Company Timeline
1965 – Alfaroto, a small paper bag printing company, is founded by the Argyropoulos family in Athens.
1975 – The first rotogravure press is installed in the Votanikos plant in Athens.
1985 – The company begins to print single-layer plastic film.
1995 – Betaroto is founded with headquarters in the Komotini industrial area.
1997 – The company starts expanding its client base, initially in neighbouring countries.
1999 – The newly acquired flexographic printing press allows for new prospects in the company’s development.
2003 – Exports to Western Europe become top priority for the Sales Department.
2004 – Alfaroto SA and Betaroto SA merge to become today’s Alfabetaroto SA.
2005 - 2011 – Alfabetaroto implements a long-term €30m investment programme, one of the largest investments in the European flexible packaging market.
2006 - Today – Operations are carried out according to the following awarded standards:
a) ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems Standard;
b) ISO 14001:2004:2004 Environmental Management Systems Standard;
c) ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management Systems Standard;
d) The British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials.
2007 – Alfabetaroto buys out Prisma rotogravure cylinder-engraving company.
