Quality and Environmental Policies

Alfabetaroto’s primary aim is to satisfy client needs while simultaneously implementing a full environmental protection system in line with Greek legislature, EU directives and BRC (British Retail Consortium) requirements in order to ensure that products are both safe and legal.
The above aims are achieved by:

  • implementing contemporary production methods with consistent quality controls during all production phases;
  • promptly delivering products at the smallest possible cost to the, company distributors and client;
  • creating a work environment that nurtures constant development of all divisions through the smooth collaboration amongst them and distributors;
  • implementing new production technologies by using state-of-the-art machinery and expert personnel, which is constantly informed and trained in new developments and quality assurance.

 

Alfabetaroto’s Environmental Policy aims at:
  • minimizing pollution by adopting preventive measures in every division;
  • promoting anti-air pollution measures;
  • informing all company employees of company quality and environmental policy;
  • providing company suppliers with know-how on environmental issues;
  • raising environmental awareness in local communities;
  • training staff on environmental issues;
  • promoting recycling and using recycled materials;
  • promoting methods that lead to minimizing energy consumption.

 

Food Safety Policy

Alfabetaroto’s safety policy concerning food packaging is to satisfy all clients’ safety requirements while also adhering to the laws and regulations by using the Food Safety Management System, which is continually updated to improve efficiency. Specifically, management has set the following general goals:

  • to avoid food safety problems;
  • to manage potential food safety problems immediately and effectively;
  • to improve the efficiency of the Food Safety Management System.

 

Alfabetaroto has adopted the following principles as part of its safety policy for food packaging:
  • to efficiently implement the Food Safety Management System according the requirements and regulations of the ISO 22000:2005 Standard and the BRC (British Retail Consortium) to ensure food safety and legality;
  • to hold all employees responsible for food safety in their respective divisions;
  • to inform all employees of the Food Safety Management System and hold them responsible for implementing it under the guidance and supervision of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) consultant and coordinator;
  • to provide every means (equipment and training) to achieve the production of safe food packaging materials;
  • to document any action that may affect food safety in the production of packaging and to define it according to the HACCP guidelines and instructions on good hygiene;
  • to document and analyze the results of all controls in order to improve the Food Safety Management System;
  • to hold the HACCP team coordinator, who reports back to the consultant, responsible for correctly applying the Food Safety Management System according to HACCP and BRC regulations.
